WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards

Find out who will be crowned the winner of the esteemed WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards 2017, at a one-off ceremony at the Lyric Theatre! Following a series of competitive heats, the finalists take to the stage on April 10th to impress the judges.

Featuring only ten performers from an original group of 44, the night will see the finalists perform 8 minutes of their musical comedy acts, with a series of industry professionals voting for the winner. There’s also the opportunity to win the Audience Favourite Award for the act that received the best audience reaction, as well as a performance opportunity from the Best Newcomer.

Beginning in 2009 and founded by Ed Chappel, the MCA’s were set up to encourage and promote emerging talent in the musical comedy industry. Now entering its eighth year, the awards are recognised as one of the most prestigious outings of the year. The MCA’s have provided a platform for renowned acts such as Frisky & Manish, Abandoman and Jay Foreman.

Hosted by Tina T’urner Tea Lady, the WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards will be a riotous celebration of the UK’s finest up-and-coming musical comedians! Expect to laugh until you cry at a night that is bursting with talent!

Cast and Creative

Confirmed acts for the finals are yet to be announced, but competitors include Thom Milner, Matt Hutson, Gwilum Argos, Daniel Fraser, Mr Spooky, Will Hislop, Isobel Roge, Professor Jack Darcy, Sarah Mills, Teresa Livingstone, Les Beaux Idiots, Jamie D’Souza, Charlie Partridge, Kirsty Mann, James Wilson-Taylor, Riona O’Connor, Vicky Arlidge, Rasputin’s Lunchbox, Kevin Davidson and Dan Attfield.

Additional performers include Gavin Milnthorpe, Fritz Frizzle, Ariane Sherine, ShitStorM, Tom Taylor, Vicky Gould, Thomas Hind, Harry Garrison, Two Plus Ones, Rosie Holt, Hassan Dervish, Jeff Japers, Luka Antony, Hurt & Anderson, Lolly Jones, MC Cashback, Katie Pritchard, Steve Whitely, Jason Simmons, David Hoare, Bennet Kavanagh, Barnaby Griffin, Danny Macleod and Jenny B Side.

Show Lengths and Times

The WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards plays one performance at the Lyric Theatre London on Monday 10th April 2017. This is the final round of the competition, with previous heats performing at other venues.

Show running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including an interval.
