Smash-hit musical Thriller Live continues to wow audiences with its smooth moves, dancing into its sixth year at the Lyric Theatre London. A celebration of pop legend Michael Jackson, Thriller Live is the ultimate tribute show that brings all of his best hits to the forefront of the stage.
Conceived by super-fan, Jackson family friend and author Adrian Grant, Thriller Live originally previewed in the UK at the Dominion Theatre in 2006, before opening at the Lyric Theatre in 2009. Previously the production has been performed in Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia before it made its move to London’s West End. Originally intended as a tribute show to Michael Jackson’s best music, it was not until Jackson’s untimely death in early 2009 which caused Thriller Live to catapult into the tribute act to end all tributes.
Thriller Live follows Michael Jackson through every stage of his career, from his early days with the Jackson 5 to his status as Pop King. Watching as he slowly makes his transformation into the Michael Jackson we know today, Thriller Live features numerous well-known songs that will leave audiences dancing in their seats. Shaking out the best numbers from Jackson’s back catalogue, the show features rousing renditions of “Blame it on the Boogie”, “I Want You Back”, “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, “Smooth Criminal” and, of course, “Thriller”.
An all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza, Thriller Live features the famous dance moves and costumes that accompanied all of Jackson’s greatest hits. More of a concert than a traditional piece of musical theatre, Thriller Live is packed full of crowd-pleasers that are sure to entertain everyone, from die-hard Jackson fans to those who only know a few hits!
